Shroomish (Japanese: キノココ Kinococo) is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

Information technology evolves into Breloom starting at level 23.

Biology

Shroomish is a pocket-sized Pokémon similar to a mushroom. Information technology has beady black eyes and a half-triangle-shaped mouth. Its upper body is beige with frilled segments along the lesser and a modest opening at the acme. There are green spots mark its upper body, while its lower body is completely green. It has small, circular anxiety and no visible arms or hands. When it senses danger, it shakes its body and scatters toxic spores from the acme of its head. These spores tin make copse and weeds wilt and cause whole-torso pain if inhaled. Shroomish lives in tropical forests. During the day, information technology hides under fallen leaves in the shade. It eats composted soil in forests, which is made up of fallen, rotten leaves.

Trivia

  • Shroomish and its evolved course share the aforementioned category with Paras, Parasect, Foongus, and Amoonguss. They are all known as the Mushroom Pokémon.
    • All half-dozen Pokémon likewise share a common move, Spore, and Ability, Event Spore.
  • In Generation Four, Shroomish can learn False Swipe via convenance, merely not via TM.

Origin

Shroomish seems to be based on a mushroom, particularly a puffball or an world star. It may also be based on a dinosaur egg due to its round shape, its colour scheme matching that of a Pokémon Egg, and its evolved form Breloom's resemblance to certain dinosaurs.

Name origin

Shroomish may be derived from mushroom and the suffix -ish (well-nigh like) or skirmish (a fight or battle; alluding to its Fighting-blazon evolved class).

Kinococo may be a combination of 茸 kinoko (mushrooms) and 子 ko (child).
